Not your average support worker job…
We’re not here to “fill shifts.”
We’re here to change lives — including yours.
At Ability&Ambition, we support NDIS Participants to build independence, confidence, and meaningful lives within their community. That might look like:
- Running a creative session at our facility, Ohana House
- Coffee runs and real conversations
- Supporting someone to build routine and life skills
- Community access, mentoring, and getting out into the real world
- Being a consistent, positive person in someone’s life
No two days are the same and that’s exactly how we like it.
What makes this role different?
We do things properly. That means:
- You’re supported by a responsive admin + leadership team
- Clear shift instructions, structured supports, safety plans and documentation (no guesswork)
- A strong team culture (we actually like each other) where your voice is valued and listened to
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- We appreciate initiative, personality, and real connection; not just ticking boxes!
We’re looking for people who:
- Are naturally empathetic, but can hold strong boundaries
- Can think on their feet and adapt in real-time
- Want to build genuine relationships with Participants
- Aren’t afraid to get involved- whether that’s cooking, sport, gaming, or just having a laugh
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Are reliable (this one matters — a lot)
Experience is great but the right attitude is everything.
The essentials:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check/NCC (or willing to obtain)
- Working With Children Check
- Driver’s Licence + reliable vehicle
- First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
- Availability across weekdays and/or weekends
Why join Ability & Ambition?
We’re a growing, local business that genuinely cares about our Participants and our team.
You won’t get lost in a big, corporate system here.
You’ll be known, supported, and given the opportunity to grow.
