Disability Support Worker

About the role

Join the team at Fraser Coast Disability Services Pty Ltd as a Disability Support Worker, providing hands-on assistance and support to participants with a range of disabilities in the Hervey Bay region. This is a casual role, allowing flexibility to work around your schedule. This role may become a permanent role for the right person.

As we continue to grow, we have several Support Worker Roles available across our organisation, including:

✔️ 2 x Brand NEW Supported Independent Living (SIL)- We’re recruiting an entirely new team of Support Workers for the homes.
✔️ Community Access & Social Support

✔️ Capacity Building & Skill Development

What you'll be doing

• Assisting participants with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Providing support for daily living activities including meal preparation, housekeeping, and running errands
• Engaging participants in recreational, social, and educational activities to promote their wellbeing
• Documenting participant progress and ensuring detailed records are maintained
• Adhering to all organisational policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised support plans

What we're looking for

• Experience providing direct care and support to individuals with complex disabilities, including (but not limited to) mental Health, Parkinson's, Stoke & neurological conditions, physical & psychosocial disabilities)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with participants
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
• A flexible and adaptable approach, able to respond to the unique needs of each participant
• A current driver's licence and reliable transportation
• Completed prior to application: Worker Orientation Module, New Worker Induction Module, Supporting Safe & Effective Communication Module, and Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals Module
• Current and up to date First Aid & CPR Certificates
• Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check ( Paid Blue Card )
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
