About the Role:
We are seeking female and preferably Filipino Support Workers around the Western Suburbs specifically in Hoppers Crossing with experience in caring for people with Disabilities. The ideal candidate will excel in caring for individuals living with a disability with varying support needs to enhance physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
A successful candidate needs to be passionate about helping others maintain their quality of life.
You'll need to be compassionate, empathetic and a detail orientated individual who possess strong listening and communication skills to be successful.
As a Support Worker you could be working in people's homes and/or in the community and may help with tasks such as mobility, eating and drinking, personal care or accessing the community.
Duties and responsibilities of a Support Worker are unique and varied because those we support have unique needs. Whilst this can be a diverse role, the focus is always on supporting a person to lead a fulfilling and more independent life.
Experience in Complex Care is required including:
· Feeding – PEG and/or Tube
· Medical Assist
· Epilepsy Monitoring
· Hoisting/ Transfers
· Complex Behaviours
· NGT and Suctioning (training can be provided by RCH)
Shift required:
· Must be available morning, afternoon and active overnights
· Shifts will be 3 x 8 hour shifts a day
Must Haves
· Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
· National Police Check (Essential)
· Valid Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (Essential)
· Valid Australian work rights
· Open Driver's Licence, reliable car & insurance
· Some sort of experience in Nursing, Disability Home Care, Aged Care and/or Community Work is an advantage
