SIL β Disability Support Worker
Supported Independent Living (SIL)- Hervey Bay
Help4Heroes has a current opening for an experienced female team leader.
Must be female as a requirement (participant-specific) to support an NDIS participant. She requires constant support due to her cognitive & communication.
impairments as well as her mental health and trauma who resides
in a SIL with 24-hour support.
Skills:- Previous experience in mental health working with complex behaviours, epilepsy
Be trauma-informed, a team player, and have strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support that promotes choice, dignity, and independence.
- Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation.
- Support participants with mobility, transfers, and the safe use of equipment (hoists, wheelchairs, aids)
- Facilitate community participation, social engagement, and skill-building activities.
- Follow Individual Support Plans, Behaviour Support Plans, and allied health recommendations.
- Administer or support with medication in line with organisational policies and training.
- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, incident reports, and documentation.
- Monitor participant wellbeing and report any concerns or changes promptly.
- Promote a safe and respectful environment that upholds NDIS Practice Standards.
- Work collaboratively with families, guardians, support coordinators, and team members.
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in training and development to maintain competency and compliance.
Must hold -
Cert 3 in Disability
Blue & Yellow Card -Current P
NDIS Modules up to date
CPR - First aid certificate
Assist with the medication certificate
National police check - Up to date
