We are seeking Disability Support Workers that have experience working with indivduals with Complex and Challenging needs and behaviours. In this role, you will be supporting participants who may present with complex behaviours, including verbal and physical escalations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and support to participants with complex needs, assisting with their daily living activities including personal care, medication management, meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks.
- Follow individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) to proactively manage and respond to behaviours of concern.
- Support participants who may display challenging behaviours, including physical and verbal escalations, using trauma-informed and safe practices.
- Maintaining detailed and accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation.
- Support clients in achieving goals and maintaining independence.
- Must be able to work across a range of shifts including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
Essential Requirements:
This position is suited to applicants with demonstrated experience in disability support.
Applicants must:
- Have a minimum of 2 yearsβ experience supporting high needs clients including 24/7 support.
- Confidence in providing personal care, adaptability to work with different individuals including complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Excellent communication, emotional regulation, and team collaboration skills
- A strong sense of professional boundaries.
- Hold a valid Driverβs Licence, with a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Certificate III (or higher) in Disability, Community Services, or a related
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
