Female Disability Support Workers – Ivanhoe
Immediate Start | Casual & Ongoing Shifts Available
Melbourne Health & Care Services (MHCS) is looking for compassionate female Disability Support Workers to provide one-on-one support to participants living with Autism and complex mental health needs, including schizophrenia and hallucinations.
This role is based in Ivanhoe and involves supporting participants at home and in the community, with shifts available Monday to Sunday, up to 10 hours per day
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will:
Provide personal care and support with daily hygiene.
Assist with meal preparation and cooking.
Support participants with light household tasks (tidying, washing dishes, laundry).
Transport participants to and from appointments and activities.
Encourage participation in meaningful daily activities and social engagement.
Provide reassurance, motivation, and companionship.
Follow behavior support plans and maintain accurate records for the care team.

What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting individuals with Autism and complex mental health needs (schizophrenia, hallucinations).
Ability to work with participants with low and complex support needs.
Patient, empathetic, and professional approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Female applicants only (due to participant requirements).
Essential Requirements:
Certificate III (or working towards) in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Reliable motor vehicle and current driver’s license.
