This role incorporates rostered practice leadership and direct support on Monday-Sunday rotating roster, candidates must have 30 hours per week availability minimum, up to 38 hours per week.

Purpose:


House Managers provide exceptional care and promote choice and control within the lives of Sunrise2Sunrise participants. The purpose of a House Manager is to develop, maintain and implement effective and sustainable accommodation environments for our Participants.

This position reports to the Area Manager for the operational outcomes of accommodation houses with a focus on a person-centred active support approach, maximising the level of independence of the participants, engaging with the participants families and other members of their care team to promote the health and wellbeing of the participants.

House Managers will represent professional engagement with participants that is concerned with generating quality personal relationships, which are supportive and life enhancing. They will provide opportunities for choice, self-advocacy and participation in matters relating to the home as well as facilitating access to community services and programs. They work to support participants with all aspects of everyday living – personal care, washing, cleaning, laundry, preparing and cooking meals and shopping.

House Managers are responsible for the Daily running aspects of our accommodation houses and have communication with staff, participants, Care teams and external stakeholders.

About You:


3+ years experience as a House Manager, including leadership roles/experience.
Ability to be participant focused, have strong leadership skills and management qualities.
Ability to create and work with a care roster of staff.
Ability to manage effective collaboration with important stakeholders.
Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma in Community Sector Management etc is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:


Develop and maintain an accommodation environment based upon the assessed support requirements of individual participants.

Liaise with families, other disability services, external stakeholders and support groups.

Ensure to promote healthy lifestyles in terms of physical & psychological fitness, nutrition and recreational opportunities.

Ensure regular (at least monthly) team meetings are held, for the purpose of enhanced communication, development and improvements of services for you Accommodation House.

Assist staff members in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of expenditure and budgets.

Responsible for the rostering of all direct support staff within your houses including monitoring of absenteeism and recommendations for escalation.

Ensure all staff understand and fulfil their responsibilities, ensuring their accountabilities and conduct regular supervisions with all team members.

Complete all paperwork, (i.e., medication re-orders, transportation, visitor logs etc) while working a minimum of shifts a week.

Ensure all incidents are managed effectively and reported within relevant timeframes, reflective of Sunrise2Surnise’s Policies and Procedures.

Carry out designated duties/tasks as per the service duty roster, and other reasonable duties as instructed by the employer from time to time.
