About us

Morhaven Disability Services provides group social, recreational and community participation opportunities for 16–35-year-olds who have mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, autism and mental health conditions. We provide one on one support to people aged 5 yrs to 70 yrs old in their home and in the community.

Qualifications, Experience & Talents

  • Previous experience in the sector (highly regarded).
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification (highly regarded).
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, especially for our longer-term clients.
  • A valid Driver's License and a reliable, comprehensive insured vehicle.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Possess a compassionate, caring, & supportive nature.
  • Agile with a solid capacity to adapt to changing environments.
  • High levels of energy & enthusiasm.
  • Empathetic & a good listener.
  • An attitude of going above & beyond.
  • An observant personality with a keen eye for detail.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Support clients 1:1 to access the community & participate in social outings.
  • Working independently with clients in their homes providing support with domestic duties and personal care activities.
  • Working with participants in our group social and living skills programs as well as attending special events.
  • Providing respite & overnight supports in participants homes.
  • Supporting our participants during Holiday Stays/STA/Respite at our farmstay property.
  • Availabliity for Friday evenings and weekends when required as part of your roster.

Our participants seek mentors who are kind, patient, compassionate, possess various skills, and have a passion for cooking, fitness, and enjoying life!
