About the role
We are seeking an experienced hospitality all-rounder to join our team as a Senior Hospitality Job Coach! This is a full-time opportunity in our supported employment hospitality division located at our head office in Keysborough. Please apply if you want a great work life balance, no weekends required!
You will work in our cafe onsite, providing support and non-accredited training to people with a disability in barista services, commercial cookery, café culture, customer service and kitchen management. Helping them improve their skills and knowledge in hospitality, while building their independence and employment skills. You will be working with individual supported employees as well as small groups of up to 3 people, to help them achieve their employment goals. You will also work closely with the Senior Manager Hospitality to support the day-to-day operational requirements of the site. There may be a requirement to work at other sites as needed.
Work pattern: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:06pm.
What you'll need to succeed:
Minimum 2 years of experience in hospitality.
Strong barista and cooking skills.
Experience in a similar role (desirable).
General understanding of food handling procedures and food hygiene practices.
Ability to work flexible hours in accordance with functions, bookings and catering requirements.
An ability to provide support and care with active support skills and the right attitude to participate in disability training on the job.
A passion for supporting people with disabilities to achieve the best they can – bring your special talents to their experience!
Ability to advocate and promote community inclusion and person-centered support that exceeds standards and is delivered within the available resources – be creative!
Resourceful and innovative approach to creating opportunities for those we support – make social change happen.
Strong communication skills; ability to prevent and resolve issues and to build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Strong administration skills and computer literacy in order to complete appropriate documentation.
A professional approach to work.
Commitment to the principles of WHS, EEO, Cultural Diversity and all relevant legislation.
Must haves:
Right to work in Australia.
NDIS Worker Screening Check - We are working with vulnerable people and this check is required to ensure we are employing people that do not present a risk to participants.
Certificate in First Aid Level 2 + CPR.
Full Victorian driver licence.
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate – Participate in safe food handling practices.
