About the Role:
We are looking for experienced and dedicated Support Workers to provide assistance and support to individuals with complex needs. This role focuses on providing high intensity support to participants with complex and multiple support requirements, encouraging their independence and self-determination. The successful candidates will be able to work autonomously and in collaboration with a team.
Successful candidates will receive on-the-job training and buddy shifts to build their competency across a wide range of skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide emotional and physical support to individuals with complex needs.
Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and feeding.
Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals.
Accompany individuals to appointments and activities.
Maintain accurate records of services provided.
Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
Monitor changes in an individual's condition and report any concerns promptly.
Create a safe and comfortable environment for individuals under your care.
Desirable:
Experience in wound care.
Experience in Mental Health.
Proven experience in managing severe dysphagia, including administering modified meals and liquids.
Expertise in providing high-level care, including medication administration and feeding assistance.
Proficiency in hoist transfers and ensuring safe manual handling practices.
Demonstrated skills in aspiration management and implementing preventative measures.
Strong understanding of individual care plans and delivering person-centered support.
Qualifications:
Certificate III in Disability or equivalent experience or working towards it.
Experience working in Disability Care within the community setting.
Leadership experience in aged care or disability care, with the ability to influence others to deliver outstanding care and customer service.
High level of clinical knowledge.
Sound understanding of Aged Care and Disability Quality Standards and quality management systems.
Full Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
