About us
Essential Home Care Solutions is a care provider for ongoing care supports for aged
and disability participants. We cater to clients from low to high care needs specifically
physically disabled and complex supports. We also have a team of nurses to cater
wound management, continence supports and training for customised needs.
Disability Support Worker
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Support Worker role is required
- A minimum of 1 year of manual handling experience is required
- A minimum of 1 year of high-intensity support experience, including bowel care and catheter care, is required
- Relevant Qualifications (e.g. Cert III in Disability or Community Services)
- Other relevant qualifications in disability or community services will be considered alongside the standard Certificate III requirements
- Required Checks: NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), CPR & First Aid Checks, Police Check, Driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow protocol, procedures, documentation, and data collection
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
- Australian work rights are required for this position
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Skills Required:
- Provide high-intensity support tailored to each participant's unique needs
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Facilitate daily living activities and implement capacity-building exercises
- Manage household duties, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Comprehensive medication administration training will be provided to ensure competency standards are met
- Accompany participants to medical appointments and liaise with healthcare teams
- Enable community participation by arranging transport and supporting access to activities
- Foster social engagement through active companionship and meaningful interaction
