Support Worker - We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in providing exceptional support to individuals with disabilities.
Requirements:
Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care and Disability) or Above Experience
Minimum of 1 year experience in disability support work is required.
Valid Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
NDIS screening
NDIS screening check must be obtained within the first month of employment.
NDIS orientation module
NDIS orientation module must be completed before starting work.
Current First aid
Blue care card
Fully Insured Car
A full driver's licence is required along with a fully insured car.
Work Scope Not Limited to:
1. Participant Support & Care
- Provide person-centered support that aligns with each participant's NDIS goals and care plan.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support participants in maintaining personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and medication reminders.
- Encourage independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of daily life.
2. Community & Social Participation
- Accompany participants to appointments, social activities, and community events.
- Support participants in developing social and communication skills.
- Facilitate inclusion and participation in community programs and recreational activities.
3. Domestic Assistance
- Assist with light household duties such as cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment.
- Report any household hazards or safety concerns promptly.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily progress notes and incident reports.
- Record and report any changes in participant condition or behaviour to supervisors.
- Ensure all documentation complies with NDIS and organizational standards.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Report and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
- Ensure confidentiality and privacy of participant information in accordance with policy and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
6. Collaboration & Professional Conduct
- Work collaboratively with team members, families, support coordinators, and healthcare professionals.
- Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and required training.
- Maintain a respectful and professional attitude at all times.
- Uphold the values of empathy, integrity, and inclusion.
7. Skill Development & Empowerment
- Support participants in learning new skills for independent living.
- Encourage goal setting and celebrate participant progress.
- Adapt support approaches to individual needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
- Must be animal lover (Dog and Cat)
