About Us:

Sensible Care is a trusted provider of in-home aged care, healthcare and disability support services. With a strong commitment to person-centred care, we deliver practical, ethical, and responsive support across Victoria and Queensland. As our organisation continues to grow and respond to evolving sector needs, we are refining internal systems and strengthening our finance operations.

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our multidisciplinary team. This role supports our financial and administrative functions — including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance — and provides cross-functional support to operations and executive management.

This new role has been shaped as part of an internal realignment of responsibilities across the finance and operations functions to better support our business model in line with changing care sector requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.
Financial data entry and reconciliations.
Process client invoices, reimbursements, and client statements.
Supporting payroll processes.
Generate RCTIs.
Contribute to compliance with relevant accounting standards and NDIS/Aged Care obligations.
Provide general finance and operational support to the leadership team.

About You:

You are a solutions-focused team member with a solid understanding of finance processes and a willingness to contribute across business functions.

Essential Criteria:

Qualifications in accounting, finance, or business.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
Proficiency with Xero and Microsoft Excel.
Strong attention to detail and initiative.
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.

Desirable:

Experience in aged care, disability or community services.
Understanding of HCP and NDIS compliance and billing practices.
Familiarity with modern awards and payroll systems.

What We Offer:

A supportive and inclusive team.
Opportunities to grow with a values-led organisation.
Competitive remuneration.
Purpose-driven work in a growing sector.

How to Apply:

Submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role. We are reviewing applications as they are received.
