ARE YOU PERSON CENTERED?

Indigo Rose Disability Support Services are looking for passionate Support Workers to join our team.

Does this sound like you?

We encourage you to reapply if you have already done so!

Indigo Rose lives by delivering a person-centered service to our clients each and every day.

Recently we were asked what this meant, each time we get asked this question we are passionate to explain our approaches we live by.

A person-centered approach is where the person is placed at the centre of the service and treated as a person first. The focus is on the person and what they can do, not their condition or disability. Support should focus on achieving the person's aspirations and be tailored to their needs and unique circumstances.

A person-centered approach:

Supports the person, at the 'centre of the service', to be involved in making decisions about their life.

Takes into account each person's life experience, age, gender, culture, heritage, language, beliefs and identity.

Able to work in a challenging & fast paced environment

Team player & able to follow direction

Requires flexible services and support to suit the person's wishes and priorities.

Is strength based, where people are acknowledged as the experts in their life with a focus on what they can do first, and any help they need second.

Includes the person's support networks as partners.

A person-centered approach should support and enable a person to build and keep control over their life.

We are proud to deliver our supports to each of our participants.

Please feel free to contact us as we would be more than happy to discuss your support options and develop a design that works for you that is tailored to what you would like.
