Registered Nurse: Disability

$56 – $59 per hour, day rate
We are looking for Registered Nurses who can work well with a team of clinical and disability support staff to provide complex health and personal care for a NDIS participant living in their home 24/7. Our participant is part of their family and their community. In 2024 our organisation supported International Day of People with a Disability by providing haptic vests and head sets to expand the range of people with a disability who could enjoy our local concert- band perform. We also had a special high tea for our participant that was supported by the clarinet section of the local concert- band, of which our participant is a member. Our participant would like female staff due to personal care.

This role will:
- Work with an experienced team of Disability Support Workers and allied health, who are providing 24/7 services to a participant with high intensity support needs in a ratio of up to 2:1. No challenging behaviours.
- Provide complex daily care needs includes, but is not limited to, clinical care in the areas of;
- airways support, CPAP, suctioning, and O2 therapy management
- wound and pressure care management
- Respond to incidents and conduct incident reporting and monitoring to deliver and maintain best practice.
- Implement support care plans to meet the changing health needs of the participant, according to medical and allied health professional recommendations
Essential qualifications and requirements include:
- AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse without restrictions
- Minimum five years experience as an RN and of these, two years in a clinical setting.
- First Aid Certificate – annually/CPR annually;
- if relevant, International Police Checks (If you have worked for a continuous period of 12 months or more in another country within the last 10 years)
- COVID19 Vaccination - within the last 6mths
- Influenza Vaccination – 2025
Desirable skills, experience and qualifications include:
- Five years RN experience includes two years in a clinical setting
- Accredited RN Epilepsy Management training
- Completion of additional NDIS modules
- NDIS Orientation and Worker Clearance
