Support Workers Aged Care and NDIS

About the role

We are seeking Home and Community Support Workers to assist customers, to maintain and increase their independence and assist them to live as valued and participating members of the community.

Looking for person centered support workers who have experience with Dementia and are passionate about what they do. Some of the work will be in Holland Park West and must be available between the hours of Monday - Saturday 8am - 10pm.

Your goal will be to assist our customers to engage and enhance their daily living skills, strengthen relationships with families and carers, enhance social connections and community networks, and grow confidence and independence to live safely in the community.

Main responsibilities and activities may include:

• Assistance with care in the home - personal care
• Getting out for social engagement, activities and attending appointments (own vehicle essential)
• Assistance with household tasks (will include cleaning, meal preparation)
• Assistance with medications
• Light administrative duties (record maintenance, reporting)

Requirements:

• Experience with Dementia essential
• A genuine passion to work alongside participants/the elderly and to make a positive and lasting difference in their lives.
• Professional experience of the NDIS and/or Aged Care sectors.
• Experience of complex behaviours and behaviour support methods
• Excellent communication skills, commitment to a person-centred focus and flexibility to support needs based on individual circumstances.
• Resilience and compassion
• Worker Screening check
• Qualification in Disability, Aged Care or related field preferred
• Current First Aid certificate and current CPR certificate  
• Current QLD Drivers Licence & access to a reliable vehicle
• The right to work in Australia
