We are recruiting for highly experienced Disability Support Workers with developed skills in ABI, complex mental health and a strong PBS background. We will consider applicants who have more than 3 + years of work experience in this specialized field.

What does a Typical Day Look Like?
Working with NDIS clients offers a unique chance to cultivate lasting relationships with those you're assisting. This role is well-suited for individuals who will be providing personalized assistance to participants with challenging behaviours, enhancing the Participant's capabilities, assisting with daily tasks, implementing strategies as part of their BSP, maintaining documentation while working in a 24/7 dedicated Care Team.
About The Role:
We are looking for Disability Support Workers who can make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with complex behaviours and mental health. Assist participants to achieve their goals, enhance their community participation, and promote inclusivity.
Responsibilities:
Empower Participants to exercise personal choice, initiative, independence, and self-expression.
Ability to report and manage potential risks, Restrictive Practices and incidents.
Implement Behaviour Support Plan strategies and document relevant information requested by the PBS Practitioner.
Utilize your training in mental health to support participants to remain in recovery and engaged with supports.
Provide enjoyable and safe environments for participants.
Support individual interests, hobbies, and relationships.
Engage actively with participants, fostering personal growth.
Ensure privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication administration & transportation.
Provide accurate and detailed incident reports, progress notes and shift handovers.
Handle administrative tasks with discretion and sensitivity.
About YOU:
Previous work experience in disability and NDIS supports, 3 years minimum.
Expertise and experience implementing Behaviour Support Plans, 3 year plus.
Current National Police Record Check.
Medication endorsed certificate.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
First Aid Certification.
CPR Certificate.
Manual Handling Certificate.
Valid Victorian Working with Children Check and Driver's License.
Availability for flexible working hours.
Availability to work a 7-day roster which will be a combination of shifts including mornings, afternoons, active night shifts, weekends and public holidays.
Basic computer literacy skills.
Australian Citizen and Residents only.
Valid Driver License and your own, reliable vehicle (compulsory).
Access to a vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
Qualifications & experience:
Qualifications such as a Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC3315), Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) (CHC33015) or Certificate IV in Disability (CHC43115).
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.
NDIS Orientation.
Previous work experience in aged care, disability, home and community care or nursing.
